Thanks and I'll take a look.  I wasn't looking specifically for something OSR (I'm trying to actually get away from d20 systems overall which is in large part how I discovered BoL!) but I might be able to separate out the level structure from the other mechanics.

The BoL Hack's level system is ultra-simple, and would work fine with regular BoL: complete a number of adventures equal to your current level to advance to the next one (what constitutes an "adventure" is up to the referee.)  Trait improvements are triggered by reaching the next level rather than spending AP.

Barbarians of the Void is an excellent option for running Classic Traveller games.

BotV is indeed a fantastic rules substitute for CT games!  I've had some great sessions running 76 Patrons adventures with BotV, we appreciated characters having more breadth of skill and being a little hardier and more "heroic" than their CT counterparts.

Currently running OD&D/Swords & Wizardry in the Wilderlands of High Fantasy for my home group.  One reason I'm not running BoL Wilderlands is that I've found it very difficult to scale BoL for larger groups (I have 5 players), specifically presenting appropriately challenging combat encounters -- this is not to say that it can't be done, as I'm sure it can, but I'm just not there yet.  (This was a struggle in my BoL-powered Fading Suns game as well, exacerbated by some in-progress houserules for energy shields.) The other reason is that when it comes to fantasy, my players all know and love D&D -- in some cases, it's all they know -- and have a harder time getting into alternatives.

And these are the strengths of the system. My BoL/Everywhen game is a:
BoL
RuneQuest
Palladium Fantasy
Stormbringer
-game with creatures from traditional D&D and folklore from around the world, old Harryhausen movies and a few cheesy S&S movies from the 80s (looking at you, DeathStalker 1&2).

This combination sounds 110% awesome, what an inspiring post!

Great challenge!  Currently running OD&D (in honor of D&D's 50th anniversary), but at some point in the next few months my BoL-powered Fading Suns game will definitely resume.  I'd also like to run some Sinbad-ish S&S (BoL plus some stuff from the Sword & Sorcery Codex), maybe just as one-shots.

Just picked up the S&S Codex last week.  Really dig it so far, I'm kicking myself for not getting it sooner.  My only complaint is the lack of a hardcover edition.  Regardless, I foresee a revival of my "Oneiric Wilderlands" game in the near future!

BTW - thanks for sharing the Fading Suns hack. It looks really nice and I will read it in more detail tonight. I did notice during my speed-through of the document that section "2.8 Healing" has nothing in it. Do the healing rules follow basic BoL Mythic rules or will there be slight changes for the FS setting?

Ah yes, good catch!  Too many holes yet to patch in my draft.  It more or less follows Mythic rules, I was going to include it in the rules for player reference (most folks in my group don't own any RPG rulebooks at all, let alone BoL ones!)

Re: Carpathia, thanks for the vote of confidence -- one way or another, my current rules will be coming soon!

Yes, it's still around. For various reasons, I've pretty much given up on publishing it as a "proper" game, so I figure I may as well make available what I've done!

Finally got around to posting the recent, mostly-complete draft of my BoL Fading Suns hack.  FS is one of my favorite published settings, but the rules always left me lukewarm.  This hack is based on my Carpathia rules (which I'll also be posting soon), with a lot of stuff adapted from the 2nd edition Fading Suns books.  Enjoy!
