Thanks for the tip! I will have to check it out!

Yeah, I didn't see any BoL (or BoL family) games either. I was just curious if any fellow Lemurians were going to be there.

I didn't realize that the 5e D&D games facillitated by Baldman/WotC this year were not generic ticket events and didn't register for any. Which is a bummer!

Hey Lemurians,

Anyone going to Gen Con this year?

Animals and monsters! » Monster Building Guidelines » 6/05/2014 10:04 pm

Aside from stating up Human(oid)s similarly to heroes, how do you create creatures and monsters? Any tips, tricks, or resources for doing so?

I think something like this could be very useful for the community, especially those newer to the BoL family of games.

Lemurian links » Honor + Intrigue is in the latest Bundle of Holding! » 3/14/2014 2:27 pm

Hey Lemurians,

I got a notice today that, as the title says, Honor + Intrigue is in the latest Bundle of Holding as a bonus game.

If you are not familiar with the whole Bundle of Holding thing, it's a monthly-or-so bundle of independent games bundled together by their creators. You can elect to pay the minimum and get usually 3 or 4 pdfs of games, or pay over the minimum to "level up" and get some bonus games. Usually you get a between 3 and 6 bonus pdfs. So in total, you are usually looking at a minimum of 6 or so games. It's not a bad deal.

Now, I've not heard of the other games in the bundle, but BoH usually only includes games of quality, so it's great to see a member of the BoL-family included, even if only as a bonus game.

Thought y'all might enjoy the link.

Oh, and for posterity here is the link from the G+ Community. Thanks for the original post, Rob!

(Sorry for the separate post, but I seem unable to edit my original post. Is there a way to do this?)

I saw it posted over on the BoL G+ Community and thought I'd link to it over here, too.

Someone recently ran a BoL one-shot and recorded it as part of their podcast. I'm about a quarter of the way through so far and it's pretty good.

You can find it here.

Weird lands and forgotten islands » [Barbarians of Xoth] Priests » 3/03/2014 6:01 am

A priest in this setting would be more akin to a cultist, no?

I could see keeping (or tweaking a bit) Priests as-written as gifts from worship and placating these monstrous beings. Gifts in this case a broad term from the "fate points" as-written or even monstrous mutations and the like.

I've yet to play RuneQuest of any kind but really want to. I've heard good things about the system overall. Which version did you run, Simon?

Dicey Tales, Dogs of War, Honor + Intrigue, etc to be discussed here » Dicey Tales Deluxe » 3/01/2014 8:33 pm

Awesome! Does this mean more Dicey Tales in the future, too? Such as your Carpathia setting?
