So. I was down to run a BoL Vikings game, but real life intervened and I was totally not ready to run this. On the morning of the game I dusted off the notes of a Dicey Tales game I ran last year and thought..."What happened next?"
In no time at all I was ready to return to Central America in 1925, where following a successful revolution in San Marcos, the PCs went to the country next door where the fugitive ex-Vice President had run off too with all of San Marcos's gold reserves. Diplomatic efforts having failed, the PCs were able to steal 75% of the gold back in a nail-biting river boat hijack. A high point was when two elderly yanqui gunslingers (one a PC) had an old-style western duel on the dock, while another PC dealt with villains on the boat with a Lewis Gun.
The point being that BoL/Dicey Tales is so easy to prep and run on the fly, as the system is so simple and elegant. Certainly saved my bacon!
