Halloween Pulp Adventuring?

Anyone have plans for the Everywhen Urban Fantasy Codex this spooky season?

I love running/playing Halloween-themed sessions this time of year. Sadly, it didn't fit into the schedule of my new campaign.

Wait, are you just asking the same questions in multiple threads to get your message count up?

Fury of Dracula looks to be on the schedule for my group this coming weekend.

Ha! No, I just figured that some people might do stuff with Everywhen and some with Dicey Tales, so they might miss the question in one or the other.

Honestly, I looked for a better, more general place to put it. Just couldn't figure where would be more appropriate.

Nice!

(Not familiar, but DuckDuckGo tells me that's a board game. Sounds cool.)

Re: Halloween Pulp Adventuring?

I'm not planning to do a Halloween game, as an old group of mine always did one back in the day. It was usually run by the other GM in the group and (for reasons I never figured out - he was a friend after all) he always used to twist things to get my PC killed early on. So they had never had much of an appeal for me ever since.

Also, I'm of an age when I remember Halloween was never much of a big thing here in the UK. It's grown in popularity on the last decade or so, thanks to the marketing of plastic tat and a greater American cultural influence in the UK. It's mainly seen as a thing for kids however.

Paul, have you seen the recent free horror scenarios released by Garnett?

Fury of Dracula is an excellent hidden movement game that's been around since 1987. My game group likes playing it a lot and, until recently, we stuck with the 2nd Ed. Avalon Hill (Hasbro) has just produced a 5th Ed that is priced very competitively. The 5th Ed is basically 3rd / 4th Ed repackaged with a couple of extra game mechanics, and is significantly different in game play for the group to try it out. Halloween seems a good time to try it.

As for Gruntfuttock's take on Halloween, and as a fellow Brit, I concur wholeheartedly. That said, having lived in Canada for 25 years, I have to accept that Halloween if going to happen. I still put on a bar-humbug attitude towards it and let my wife have fun giving candy to kids (at least it stops my car being attacked), while I hide in the basement playing horror movies as loudly as I can and scare the cats

Oof! That sucks.

It's a huge things here in the US for "Kids Of All Ages!" Also, my favorite holiday.

I've seen the announcements, but haven't had a chance to read through them as yet.

Hey, whatever works for you!

I haven't been in a neighborhood where anyone trick or treats for decades. Can't remember the last time I handed out candy! I'm on my own, but I also tend to watch horror movies. (Particularly horror comedies or "monster hunting" flicks.)
