New Year, New(ish) Project

I'd like to run more sword and sorcery games this year (I only ran 6 sessions of S&S last year, out of 33 games) so I've started a run of games using BoL+the Codex, in the Warlords of Atlantis setting. Just the one game so far, but more to follow. These are not flavoured like Greek myth but are full-bore Ray Harryhausen. I ran a fun run of these in 2022 and I'm eager to get back to it.

Warlords of Atlantis is written for the Barbaric rpg, and is worth a look if sword and sandal plus super science appeals. It's a slim booklet with a broad-brush setting, so you will need to expand it for your use - but I prefer that sort of setting to a 300 page tome - most of which I'll never use. It runs great with BoL+Codex.

My real name is Steve Hall

Re: New Year, New(ish) Project

Best of luck to you in getting your games off the ground. I have an Old School Essentials and a Barbarians of Legend game going now, the latter being very Lovecraftian/Clark Ashton Smith in a Lord Dunsany inspired world.

I am the one who writes https://ancientvaults.wordpress.com/ for old school D&D, yet BoL and Everywhen are pretty cool too.
