Welcome! I'm sorry nobody responded sooner, but I guess it's the new year so people can be forgiven. Glad you've discovered BoL and glad you've joined us on the forums.

Thank you! I've been gaming since about 1980. I started out with The Fantasy Trip (Melee was my gateway game!) I played AD&D with my friends and some older folks, but never really loved it. After a break, I got back into gaming around 2015. I've pretty much been solo gaming since.
I've played Traveller/Cepheus Engine, TFT again, and got into Blades & Black Magic, by CR Brandon. It is a retro-clone of TFT. I really liked it as a S&S flavor of TFT, but he did not finish it with a magic system. So I have gone looking for a game that is still active and supported--and came to BoL.
I have a number of solo campaigns I have been dabbling in, but my current one is a S&S campaign set in a far future, post apocalyptic Earth. My main inspirations were the Moon Men by ERB, Virgin of Valkarion, by Paul Anderson, Empire of the East, by Fred Saberhagen and of course, Conan, by REH. The main location is a city-state on the edge of a desert, in what was the Gulf of Mexico--the oceans have retreated, leaving a strip of desert by a (now) inland sea. There are two races: humans, and their giant ape-like overlords (reskinned ogres). It has a lot of inspiration for me to play with, so I'm digging it right now.

Thank you for sharing. I bought Melee out of the Johnson-Smith joke catalogue for $5 in 1980 or so and played that using Ral Partha and Grenadier miniatures in an arena setting and then Wizard came out and then there was some B/X D&D and over the years a few other games. I like the new TFT also and I really like Barbarians of Legend, a stripped down version of BoL. Happy gaming! Your setting sounds like a fun one to play in.
