The Codex is a good purchase. As I always say if you intend to run S&S adventures in your own setting or somewhere like Hyboria or The Young Kingdoms, then you save yourself some time or work by also purchasing the new Sword and Sorcery Codex – it has stats for both BoL and Everywhen. The Codex would be worth getting for the Bestiary (real world creatures, plus monsters) and the Magic chapters alone. (The magic chapter expands on the magic rules in BoL core, with colleges of magic, less corrupting magic, etc.)
And of course, you can add bits of the Codex to Lemurian games as well.

Yes, I have my old Seven Cities of Magic setting kicking around somewhere in my files, and the Codex's expanded magic rules might help with that.

Yeah, Lloyd's work on Night Raven hit me the first time I saw the comic strip in Hulk Weekly all those years ago. Alan Moore's writing in the later stories is pretty damn good as well. I've been hooked on the character ever since I was a kid (which is now a long time ago LOL). V for Vendetta is probably the closest we ever got to seeing something like Night Raven in the movies, considering Lloyd's drawing of V was influenced by his work on Night Raven.
I always cringe when I see people refer to "Alan Moore's V for Vendetta." As I understand it, David was approached about doing something "like Night Raven" for Warrior and he suggested bringing Alan along. Of course, I have the same reaction when people talk about "Alan Moore's Watchmen." Like Dave Gibbons wasn't essential to that book.
That's not a dig on Alan Moore, but a criticism of reporters and fans who are sloppy with giving proper credit.Happens on a lot of other comics too.

I fully agree with this. The codex is more than just a stopgap - it's an excellent toolkit that should be referenced alongside the core book when running S&S campaigns. I think BoL GMs should have the codex and Honor+Intrigue in their BoL collection as both resources are excellent and cover so much material between them.
