Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

I'm not sure if you have any ideas yet about the next scene, but I would like to share a few ideas I might have.

One-Eyed Norf has a silver tongue boon, while Valda is an assassin.  He convinces Delfina that they are there to help the Red Wizard, or he distracts her while Valda takes her out (not kill, please ha!)  They can then try to defeat the Red Wizard who might be distracted by the immediate threat outside.  Any of these options are subject to them being altered of course!

Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

Well, we might have our answer.....

Roll against CF 7 = 4 (interrupted scene)
Random Event: 84 = PC positive
Action Words: Decieve Enemy (yeah, it doesn't get any clearer....)

Appeal Task with Silver Tongue Boon: Lothario + Appeal -1 (Hard) + 10 = Success!

One-Eyed Norf convinces Delfina that he and Valda are working with her and the Red Wizard.

"Stay out of sight until I talk with her," One-Eyed Norf hissed to Valda.
Opening the door, he calmly strolled into the room and waited until Delfina noticed him after scurrying around for several minutes with her work.
"What are you doing here?!?!?" she screamed in a panicked voice.
"Relax, Delfina, Valda and I are here to help you. Kemila was the treacherous one, but we are on your side. Do you know why these other sorcerers are attacking him? It's because they are afraid of his growing power, and rightfully so!  Although the Red Wizard might be able to handle of few of them together, he won't be ready if they all attack at once.  We should find a way to escape this wretched island before they turn their collective powers against him.  Since you seem to be occupied at the moment, maybe Valda and I can help you as long as you include us in your future endeavors and riches."
Delfina begins to look at One-Eyed Norf uncertain as to whether to accept his offer.  "How can trust you?" she asks him.
"You can't," he responds with a smile, "but since I am a greedy pirate who can captain your escape ship, you're going to need me. Besides, when have you known for me to pass up an opportunity to get rich? I am sure your master will pay us well."
"Lover," Delfina corrected him, "and he will if you bring back the person I was talking about earlier without being caught by his foes."
"You tell us where this guy is, and the task is as good as done.  But hurry up and decide, I am not sure the Red Wizard can hold out much longer..."

Who is this contact?
Character Words: Socialite Bureaucrat

I was thinking of a merchant with great influence since the Council of Magicians is the ruling body of government.  Perhaps he arranges for shipments to come in regularly.  If you like you can give him a name and finish the dialogue.

Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

I'm dealing with a major power outage since Tuesday with no end in sight until minimum Saturday. Batteries are limited and cell data is spotty.

No worries! Sorry to hear about the power outage. We can wait until you are back up to speed since I enjoy your ability to create such imaginative scenes!

Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

Happy Thanksgiving!

One possible thought that came to me was that One-Eyed Norf and Valda might try to stop the Red Wizard by gaining the spell of slumber to win favor with the other sorcerers and possibly use that as leverage to get them to declare war on the Witch-Queen since they could be convinced that she is much more powerful than them and does not require governance like all the other sorcerers.  This is much how One-Eyed Norf likes to operate with his crafty tongue and quick mind, rather than brute strength which he possesses as well.

Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

Hey, Happy Thanksgiving yourself! It’s been a disaster here since the big windstorm. Power got back on during the tail of the weekend, but picking up the pieces is still a bit slow. Holidays are here too. I hope to get caught up…

Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

I got a late start on this and I'm only on page 5, but I just want to say I'm loving the hell out of this, and for the first time ever in my life I'm curious about solo-play systems. Great work!

Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

Thanks for the comment! I am happy that you are enjoying this as much as we have, I would think.  This has been an interesting endeavor since it is not completely solo in the sense that we are both playing a GM-less campaign together, but certainly using the solo RPG aids to help move the action along.  Roryb is much more experienced at this than me, he posted an adventure of Valda online. Here is the link to that adventure:
https://forum.rpg.net/index.php?threads/bol-location-crafter-valda-and-the-desolation-of-the-fire-coast.792844/

I had three solo adventures with One-Eyed Norf, but I am still learning the rules of BoL. I had never played BoL before but always wanted to!  Our goal was to take two solo characters and create a "Marvel" "-like experience where they are thrown together.  However, at the very beginning, we were always open to more people joining. This particular method would not work well with a lot of people, but it would with three. So if you would be ever interested in joining us, I think I can speak on behalf of roryb in saying that you would be more than welcome.  Thanks again for your interest in following the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits!
