Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

Nope, I think you are right, you certainly have been playing longer than me!  Let me further understand with a mighty success, that its either a natural 12 roll or when you use hero points to modify it, not if you roll a 12 with modifiers?

Correct. It’s boxcars or a success and a hero point. With many heroes, there’s generally enough points to see mighty successes on a fairly frequent basis. With only one or two, quite a bit less often. Those points are *just enough* to make you wince when you need to use them in my experience.

Ok, my apologies for the rabble ruckus.  Now I understand better since I was always confused with the horde rules!

Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

So, I am open to either Valda and One-Eyed Norf deciding to go through the front door or sneak into the tower.  Here are some words to help describe the tower.

City Descriptors: Environment Ruined
Action Meaning: Betray Peace

With the chaos erupting in the city, many of the wizards' temples were damaged including the Red Wizard's.

Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

Apologies for the radio silence. Things are a bit intense at the moment. Maybe I'll get a post in today, but don't be surprised if I can't respond.

Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

I will add this in the meantime.....

Following the directions of the runaway slaves, One-Eyed Norf and Valda make their way down the war-torn ravaged streets until they come across the tower that had been indicated to belong to the Red Wizard Riathu. Chaos continues to erupt all around them, but they reach their destination unmolested.  Smoke was billowing from within the ordinary-looking tower, and a large gaping hole in one of the stone walls, fortifying its perimeter.  Immediately the pair noticed that the tower was a lot smaller than many of the others that surrounded its location.  One-Eyed Norf began to smile, turning to Valda he shared enthusiastically, “This might work to our advantage that it's smaller than the others.  It means that the “Red Wizard” is not as established as some of his neighbors, and is looking for a way to impress, maybe even surpass his peers.  This might work towards our advantage if we play our cards right! Do we knock on the front door, or find another way to covertly enter?  I think eventually we can convince this clown that we are on his side and have him help us find a way off the island if we are lucky.”

Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

This good. Valda will agree to go along with OEN with his daring plan. Feel free to push on and act on Valda's behalf. Alas, I am on another trip and only have my phone with me. No post until Monday night at the earliest.

Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

We'll do!  Let's see how this scene unfolds.....

Roll against CF 7 expected scene: (2) Interrupted Scene
Random Event: (12) New NPC
Action Meaning Words: Scout Teacher, Interesting Extravagant, Divide Intellect, Start Character

Fate Check: Does this new character threaten the Red Wizard Riathu? (CF7) + (Very Likely) + 18 = Exceptional Yes!

As One-Eyed Norf explains his plan to Valda, they suddenly hear a loud noise behind them. Peering down the road they catch sight of a large body of undead warriors marching upon the Red Wizard's tower! The large army is led by a lithe, seductive woman carrying a staff.  Realizing that the Red Wizard's actions would eventually draw some attention, and most likely competition, One-Eyed Norf and Valda scurry quickly to the side of the tower where they find cover to hide while being able to observe the encounter without being seen.  After several minutes the willowy feminine figure stops in front of the tower of the Red Wizard.
"Red Wizard Riathu, I am Dhruma Oz, a member of the Council of Magicians, the ruling body that governs the city of Zalut.  You have been charged with inciting insurrection against your fellow magic casters!  You will answer for these charges by appearing in front of the Council of Magicians. I am here to summon you to our council, to stand trial for your offenses.  I warn you not to resist me, as you will find that I am a formidable foe to contend with. What is your answer?"
After several moments of deathly silence, the large door to the Red Wizard's tower opens.  The pair cannot see who is emerging from within from their vantage point.  Dhruma Oz stands quietly gazing within the depths of the tower, and begins to smile. "This was to be expected!" she mutters to herself loudly.  Suddenly a large wave of bloodless warriors rush forth from the tower, instantly engaging in combat with the skeleton army that stands outside waiting. As they watch the battle unfold, the pair notice a large gaping hole in the tower wall in front of them.  Realizing that the tower has been assaulted several times before and sustained damage, One-Eyed Norf and Valda nod to each other, reading each other's thoughts as to how to enter the structure.  Readying their weapons, they begin to cautiously make their way into the depths of the smoking tower, while the chaos of violence erupts at its entrance to provide distraction for the pair to achieve their task unmolested.

Re: the Misadventures of the Lemurian Misfits Campaign

Description Words for Room:  Artistic Enclosure
Fact Check: Is the room occupied? (CF 7) + (50/50) + 8 = No

As One-Eyed Norf and Valda climb through the gaping hole in the wall, they can hear the battle raging outside which hides their entry as a distraction.  As they climb through the opening, they immediately find themselves in a large room filled with life-size statues of sinister-looking figures. Towards the end of the room is a statue of the Red Wizard Riathu, standing at least a foot higher than all the other statues.  Behind the statue lies a large wooden door that appears to lead to the next room. Pointing to one side, One-Eyed Norf gestures for Valda to traverse along the far wall, while he cautiously creeps along the opposite side, keeping her constantly in his sight to cover her approach towards the door, while she does the same for him.

Fact Check: Does the pair hear anything in the next room, as they approach it?  (CF 7) + (50/50) + 17 = Yes!
Description Words: Beautifully Abnormal, Release of Intellect

As One-Eyed Norf and Valda slowly make their way to the door, they flank each other as they pry it open slightly to glimpse inside.  They immediately recognize the small stature of Delfina, as she eagerly works with haste in what appears to be an alchemist's laboratory on crafting some type of new creation.  One-Eyed Norf smiles at Valda, "By Shazzadion, that was too easy!"
