You were thinking the same as me with Thule being a rich garden of creature horrors!
As One-Eyed Norf approaches Valda, his happiness, suddenly turns to alarm. "By Shazzadion," he screams, "what new devilry is this!?!?" Norf still holding his prized gift from Crixas, throws off its sheath and lunges at the tentacle that is wrapped around Valda's waist.
Attack: 11 + 2 (melee) + 1 (agility) -2 (defense) = success! (spending 1 Hero Point to raise to Mighty Success, and attacking with a precision strike)
Damage: 3 + 3 (strength) -1 (protection) = 5
One-Eyed filled with rage, drives his kir deep into the tentacle causing the beast to shriek in pain and release Valda from its grip as it recoils its bloody tentacle back to itself. Sweeping his massive arms around her, he swoops her off the ground, slinging her over his shoulder, and begins to run in the direction behind the creature.
Agility Check: 6+ 1 (agility) + pirate (2) = success!
One-Eyed Norf scrambles to a rocky formation on the beach, and jumps over it, lying flat against it while motioning Valda to do the same. "Stay absolutely still and don't make a sound!" he hisses to her.
Fate Check: Does the creature see them? Unlikely -2 (due to pain from attack and poor eyesight) 7 = No
One-Eyed Norf and Valda lay quietly behind the rocky formation for several minutes, watching as the creature still wreathing in pain, begins to look confusingly for the pair. However, after several more minutes of useless searching, it begins to move in the direction closer to water, away from the pair.
Fate Check: Are there other bodies from the pirate crew that have washed up to shore? Near certain (+4) + 14 = Exceptional Yes!
The creature in its frustration soon begins to find the dead bodies of the pirate crew that has washed ashore. It soon begins to feed on them, becoming distracted in its feeding. "Let's move, " Norf hisses to Valda, placing a gentle hand on her back to indicate the direction. "Go figure," he muses, "it takes a blind man to know a blind creature and its behavior!" He crawls behind the rocky formation for several minutes, until putting enough distance from the creature, he stops to rest. "That was close! So happy to see you're still alive," he expresses with sincere relief.

Fate Check: Has One-Eyed Norf been to Zalut before in his travels? Very Likely (+2) + 19 = Exceptional Yes!
After resting for several minutes, One-Eyed Norf announces to Valda, "Come on, let's head to Zalut. I think I know someone there who might be able to help us, an alchemist who can really work some magic with her hands!" Realizing what he had just said, he added, "With her inventions of course!" He smiles and laughs to himself, as he begins to walk in the direction of the city of the magicians, silently both cursing and thanking their luck.
Action Meaning: Crafter Judge, Aromatic Extravagant
I think this NPC is an alchemist, with those descriptions and One-Eyed Norf's familiarity with women, it's a female! Delfina Khan

I vote for ending the first scene and making the journey to Zalut the second scene, with the Chaos Factor increased to 6 due to their situation getting out of control. Just so I understand this transition better, which I ask for you to roll up, can you check to see if there is an altered or interrupted scene in the process? Thanks!

Valda. 10 Lifeblood. 5 Hero Points.
Valda feels once again hale after their brief rest — until the mention of Zalut. One-Eyed Norf knows the northron barbarian well enough by this time to recognize her misgivings — and there were few enough of these up to this point. She was an andrak in battle and shirked no challenge. But now her eyes narrow and the stoop of her shoulders show a feral mien.
”Zalut?! The City of Magicians?” she asked. The hairs on her neck begin to rise. Then, in an instant, the look is replaced by her trademark defiance and determination. “Very well. Lead on, my one-eyed friend! May the fiends of Thule dare no longer harry us!” She stands again and wades into the scrub and rocks at the edges of the beach.
Fate Check. Can Valda find a makeshift weapon such as a staff or shaft to form a spear? (50/50) Yes! (16)
Valda returns with a stout length of wood to use as a staff and falls in line behind her larger friend.
Agreed with that plan. Make a roll for it. We can trade off setting scenes.
Chaos Factor. 6
NPCs.

Excellent! Yeah, I figured that way we could trade off sharing our creative ideas and keep it surprising even to each other as to where the story might go, along with the random chances of the Mythic GM Emulator gives as well!
One-Eyed Norf
Lifeblood: 13 Hero Points: 5
"Relax, Valda what could happen in the City of Magicians?!?!" One-Eyed Norf jeered while placing his huge arms up in the air in opposite directions, "At least nothing more than what has happened to us now! Besides, you are going to love Delfina, she is a doll. Just don't kid her about her size. She is short in stature, but aww, well big in other areas, if you know what I mean!" He begins to laugh to himself, reassuring himself that everything is going to be fine. He reached up to his mouth looking for the comfort of his trademark pipe, but suddenly realized that it was missing, a victim of the sea, and immediately began to curse to himself again, "By Shazzadion, not again!"

This traveling to Zalut might provide me with the opportunity to learn from you how to use the Location Crafter! Since they came in from the beach rather than the port, our heroes may still have to face other beasts before they get to the city. One-Eyed Norf has been to the city a few times to visit Delfina, since as an alchemist she required supplies, and the pirates would often provide for them. However, to get to Delfina, the city is protected by a gate and access to the city is restricted even if they gain entrance. So many obstacles are still ahead!

We can use it if you like. Do you have Mythic Magazine issues 2 and 3?

Yes, I have the Mythic Magazine Compilations 1 & 2, as well as the Adventure and Location Crafters. Creating locations has always been an area that I have not been able to do very well, such as creating a building with rooms. That is why I found the story, Valda and the Desolation of the Fire Coast so interesting, because it was using the Location Crafter!

Okay, let’s go through it as an example. It will replace our scene set up procedures, but otherwise we can continue doing Fate Checks. We just have to decide whether it’s a large location or small. I would say large… this bears upon how long it takes to get a “complete” result. We can just use the “Randomized Location Crafting” article from Mythic Magazine Compilation 1 (p.57).
We are doing wilderness. Rather than roll on the Regions Descriptors table, I have an idea that Thule is barren and dangerous. Those will bear upon our interpretations. We have Zalut as a known element for locations, and that’s all we really do know or care about at this point.
For our first location in the region of Thule, I roll 9, 3, and 5, getting a “Random” result for the location, but nothing on the encounter or object entries. We generate 1 progress point on our lists which means we’ll add one to our 1d10 rolls for the next scene. Checking on the random location descriptor list, I get a double entry for “quaint”. I’ll describe the first scene thusly:
Pristine Lagoon
The heroes continue along the coast until a rocky neck blocks their way. After a climb under the relentless sun, they crest a promontory overlooking a calm azure-watered lagoon. The white sand frames a small body of water clear enough to show the sandy floor and dancing kelp clinging to the bottom. Fish lazily move about in small schools, but the lagoon is otherwise deserted. Although the waters are inviting, the two quietly share the same thought that something sinister and unseen might lair in its cerulean depths. Another tumble of stones protects the small bay. It seems the way promises continual climbing over the barren landscape.
Anything else you want to do here? It seems the Chaos Factor goes back to 5, wouldn’t you say?

Yes, I agree with falling back to Chaos Factor 5. No, not unless they are hungry and need something to eat. By the way, I enjoy your descriptive writing!
Fate Check: Are Valda and One-Eyed Norf hungry? (Very Likely +2) + 8, = No (but, I rolled a double 4's, so we get a random event!)
Random Event: Move away from a thread (since we only have two, this shouldn't be too hard to determine)
Finding Delfina and procuring her help
Action Meaning: Threatenly Juevenille, Odorous Steaming
One-Eyed Norf and Valda pause to enjoy the serene view of the Blue Lagoon. As One-Eyed Norf ponders for a moment, he begins to smell a sweet fragrance that becomes enchanting. Suddenly, his thoughts are drawn to his past adventures and the women he shared them with. In his trance, he aimlessly begins to walk down to the water of the lagoon, intent on immersing himself in its seductive and inviting scent.
I think One-Eyed Norf will need some help in breaking this trace...
