Hi all,
I am always amazed at the creativity of people in making a character. Although I haven't been able to play much BoL, I always love to see the characters that people come up with. I am going to share one of my own and invite others to share your most interesting character. Maybe we can come up with an assortment of some really interesting "heroes" for a campaign or one-shot someday....ha. Thanks!
One-Eyed Norf
Norf hails from the city of Oomis, where his family ties with the Blue Giants originated causing him to have large hands and giant-like strength. Although he was not very successful as a merchant, he had a talent for wooing the hearts of young maidens. Although he was stabbed in the eye by a jealous lover’s husband, he survived the attack due to his durability, earning the nickname One-Eyed Norf. Slated to die for his crime, he was captured by pirates, where he was able to woo the heart of the famed female pirate Wild Bora. Taking him as her lover, she taught him how to become a good pirate, but soon lost control of her crew when she spent too much time with him. He fled to the city of Malakut, finding refuge with the thieves there. However, due to his large hands, he soon discovered he was a terrible thief. His misadventures have led him to much trouble, gaining many new enemies and allies.

I'll add his partner in crime......
Crixas the Knave
Crixas the Knave grew up as a thief in the city of Malakut, constantly working on his talents to perfect them. Already naturally gifted with athletic prowess, he one day decided to break into the house of a renowned alchemist, Avitus. However, he was soon caught by the safety devices that protected Avitus’ home. Realizing Crixas was misguided rather than a bad person, Avitus took pity upon him and decided to teach him his trade of alchemy. Being affiliated with the Brotherhood of Shadows, Avitus soon became the father figure he never had, mentoring him into becoming a skilled thief and assassin. However, Avitus soon fell out of favor with the Brotherhood and was executed for his misdeeds. This action did not sit well with Crixas the Knave, and he decided to leave the Brotherhood of Shadows. He has now declared open war upon them, vowing his revenge for the murder of Avitus and will not rest until he has completely wiped out the order.

My wife and I have a long running Hyborian Age BoL campaign called "The Hammer of Æs", it started as a Mongoose d20 Conan campaign and was converted to BoL a few years later.
This is the story of two companions. The first, a large, blond haired barbarian warrior; he hailed from the frozen lands of Asgard. The second, a dark haired, athletic female; originally from a tribe of desert nomads in Shem, fleeing her homeland; she arrived in a strange decadent city called Shadizar, where she learned the talents and skills of a thief.
The two would meet in that strange city, a city full of thieves, murderers, pimps, rogues, and renegades of the world over. After joining together to defeat a common enemy, the two realized that they worked well together. From there, the many adventures and journeys that the two shared would fill several volumes of books to re-count.

That is awesome, thanks for sharing!
I think I have read about some of your adventures before. I can see the characters are beyond the beginning level.

Yes, the campaign was converted to BoL back in 2014, so the two characters have been adventuring for a while now.

Since 2014? That's incredible! Do you and your wife play without a GM or how does the campaign work? Just curious to find out. Thanks!

I GM the campaign and run my GM/PC character. Her character gets to make the decisions, but sometimes I will give a clue or make a decision that would be appropriate for my PC to make.
This works for us really well, we try to game once a week. But there are times when we don't game for a month or two. We have been gaming like this since the 90s. We have only played with other people a half dozen times or so, they were usually short campaigns (4-6 sessions only.). Just too difficult to get schedules together with other people on a regular basis.
After starting down the BoL journey, my wife really does not want to play any other system - she loves the system. She will give in sometimes and play The Fantasy Trip, that is the game that I started my gaming with back in the late 70s, to make me happy though.
We have several different campaigns ongoing using the BoL rules. One is a Beasts & Barbarians - Jalizar campaign, another is a Witcher campaign, and we also have a Warhammer campaign, all three are sitting around waiting for their turn in the bucket. I also have a modern era (1980s time frame) setting for use with the BoL Dogs of W.A.R. rules, but have not gotten around to playing it.
I've also been working on a BoL "Hellfrost" (Savage Worlds setting) campaign and a World of Xoth campaign (I've used about 3 or 4 of the Xoth adventures already in our Hyborian Age campaign, and really like them.)
Just not enough time for everything....
Online!
Unfortunately/fortunately I've had to GM all the BoL games I've participated in. I really don't mind because it's such fun to run, but I haven't had a chance to create a PC for myself yet.

I, also, have only run, and therefore don't have any player characters to share, but before I ran, I created a number of sample characters, both to learn the system and to give my players a sense of what they could do.
This was my first - I figured it made sense for my first BoL character to be a Conan knock-off. I went with the Axos Mountains as a background, because Valgard is too metal for anything other than a Frazetta Conan.

This was me checking out the Alchemist rules:
