I am starting to covert a Mongoose d20 Conan game (as well as start up a new Conan campaign) using the BoL Legendary Edition rules.
Reading, and trying out the rules – I did not care for the Rabble/Goons set up, nor for the success roll that allows whole groups of them to be wiped out.
I am using a house rule that my NPCs are divided up as such:
Extras, Rabble, Goons, Commoners ect…: 2 points to spend on Attributes, 2 for Combat Abilities, 2 for Careers (with a limit to 2 Careers only), starting LB is 5 + Str, No boons, flaws, or hero points
Important NPCs, villain’s henchmen, etc..
Set up like Heroes, without any Hero Points, Boons, or Flaws
Main Villain
Set up like Heroes, they get Boons, Flaws, and Villain Points
A Mighty Success in combat just means that the damage roll is the Max Weapon damage + Str
A Legendary Success in combat means that the damage roll is the Max Weapon damage + Str + 1d6
I feel that this makes the game a little grittier…
So far it has worked for us in our practice sessions.
I am enjoying stating out NPCs etc… though – WAY EASIER than trying to stat out some d20 NPCs…

I love when people convert from another game source to BoL! Remember, "it's about action, not stodgy detail."!
