    A hearty barbaric yawp to all

    Hello! Not actually new here: I joined the board in 2015, but never posted. So I guess I'm making up for lost time now. I missed the Kickstarter for the new edition because of adulting, but I am looking forward to picking the book up once it's released to the general public.

    Greetings, old timer! I've found some useful things on your blog over the years, so thanks.

    What brings you to post for the first time? Reawakened interest in BoL? Burned out on D&D? Looking for variety? Personally I've being mostly stuck in a 1920s-40s groove this year (currently running a WW2 game), but I want to get back to S&S in 2025. Using BoL+Sword & Sorcery Codex to get back to the Bronze Age is the plan. Do you have any plans for BoL action in 2025?

    I have to run a one-shot for friends in January, and I was looking through my various (and all too numerous) RPG pdf files when I saw discussion of the new edition on RPGnet. A lightbulb went off over my head, and I looked up the Ludospherik site, where I saw the link to here.

    Well, welcome back then. I'm also waiting for the new book to become available in the FLGS so I can get a copy. I just purchased a POD copy of Watchdogs of Killcade and I'm considering running a game or two along the lines of Night Raven (my favourite MCU character).

    Wealth can be wonderful, but you know, success can test one's mettle as surely as the strongest adversary.

    Yeah, Lloyd's work on Night Raven hit me the first time I saw the comic strip in Hulk Weekly all those years ago. Alan Moore's writing in the later stories is pretty damn good as well. I've been hooked on the character ever since I was a kid (which is now a long time ago LOL). V for Vendetta is probably the closest we ever got to seeing something like Night Raven in the movies, considering Lloyd's drawing of V was influenced by his work on Night Raven.

    I always cringe when I see people refer to "Alan Moore's V for Vendetta." As I understand it, David was approached about doing something "like Night Raven" for Warrior and he suggested bringing Alan along. Of course, I have the same reaction when people talk about "Alan Moore's Watchmen." Like Dave Gibbons wasn't essential to that book.

    That's not a dig on Alan Moore, but a criticism of reporters and fans who are sloppy with giving proper credit.Happens on a lot of other comics too.

    Thank you for joining in! I myself finished up a BoLemuria/S&S Codex game and now am finishing a secret project which is a 2d10 variant of Barbarians of Legend that mixes Eldritch Ass Kicking with BoLegend and the online mud Archmage/The Reincarnation. Instead of being more barbarian focused this is wizards fighting for land, gold, treasure, etc using six colours of magick.

    I am the one who writes ​https://ancientvaults.wordpress.com/ for old school D&D, yet BoL and Everywhen are pretty cool too.
