Hello everyone.
When I first wrote Barbarians of Legend, it was really just a process for me to simplify BoL a little. I never intended to publish it. Main reasons being, I wanted a "bit less" of everything...no boons & flaws, reduced "bean counting" ("points" of all kinds - Arcane Power, Fate Points etc). I love BoL, but I just wanted to run an even simpler game for my group (one of whom has problems with any system that isn't either free-form or diceless). Also, to address the "warrior problem" - that is, still to this day, some players are disappointed that the various warrior careers are not added to dice rolls in combat.
Eventually, I was happy with what I produced and we played several successful games. So much so, that I thought I'd publish it - if we enjoyed it, others might. So I bought a bit of stock art off Drivethru and then put it together. It went copper in less than 48 hours (it's now silver).
Anyway, somebody either here or on FB asked about advancing main careers. I hadn't really given much though to that, but the idea stuck. I couldn't give even more bonus dice but the idea of an "advanced special ability" took hold, so I started writing again. It was just going to be a little freebie, but then a couple of new careers occurred to me, then I wrote up some more creatures and that resulted in "new stuff".
Again, that was going to be it. But then it seemed appropriate, as both were very short, to combine them into one book. So, that's what happened.
From something that was only ever going to be a home-brew for me and my gang to a published rpg. It's now also available in print on LULU, but at 49 pages its just as easy to print out at home. Although the LULU version is on premium paper and does look very nice.
BTW, there were problems uploading the revised book on Drivethru. However, that is now resolved - you need to go to your Drivethru library and find "Barbs of LegA5.2" and download it. It is 49 pages.
I hope you all get to play it and hopefully enjoy it. Thanks for the 5 star reviews guys!

I bought both of the pdfs and made a comment about a game I want to run elsewhere here. I like Barbarians of Legend and I the more generic approach, to me at least, makes adding things on that much easier.
Like the Lulu option yet we have Bookemon which I think is far superior to Lulu printing and I smashed the two pdfs together to make a softcover to carry around.
