Re: The future of BoL

Oh my, now I'm excited. If there's a chance of getting more of the French products translated to English it will be the best news for a long time.

Re: The future of BoL

OK - so now I'm getting a little antsy about this announcement LOL
Simon - you're messing with my head by saying "announcement shortly" because it's too vague. Is there any chance you can hint at when the announcement will be made? I won't tell anyone I promise

Re: The future of BoL

It is now confirmed that Ludospherik will publish a new edition of BoL going forwards, available in both French and English.  The new edition will be published early in 2024 and will include 3 adventures previously only available in French, plus 2 new adventures co-written by Simon and Garnett Elliott. English translations of Lemurian Chronicles 1, 2 & 3 will follow on soon after.

Re: The future of BoL

Here's the actual announcement:
For those that hadn't already guessed, Ludospherik is to become the publisher of all things to do with Barbarians of Lemuria role playing. They will firstly publish a brand new edition of BoL next year (a translation of their fantastic French Edition with glorious artwork by Emmanuel Roudier). It will include the three adventures only found in the French version, plus two brand new adventures written by Garnett Elliott and by myself. This will be swiftly followed by the publication of Lemurian Chronicles 1 (an adventure book already translated in English and, for now, available only on Drivethru RPG), then Lemurian Chronicles 2 (“Le Dieu Voile”, The Veiled God, a whole saga), and Lemurian Chronicles 3 (with new background and adventures). This is a great move for me and for BoL fans alike because it means the game will get the support it deserves and will give English speakers access to the great supplements that French-speakers have already been enjoying. And there will undoubtedly be more to come!

Re: The future of BoL

This is the best gaming news I've heard for quite some time. 2024 has just started on a positive note for me with regards to gaming and BoL. Very excited that we will finally get access to the excellent French products.

Re: The future of BoL

So how would self-publishing now work using BoL and derived rules? It's not OGL or CC, I think. So if you wanted to write and publish your own adventure/supplement/etc. doe it require an agreement with Simon W or with Ludospherik, or both? Basically, I'm clueless as to how this all works legally.

Re: The future of BoL

That is a great question and one that I am interested in knowing the answer to as well.
