That sounds great, I've been reading up on the Savage Worlds Hellfrost setting - it really sounds great for some Beowulf type play (even though the setting has elves & dwarves, etc...).

The Fjarrstrand Sagas: A Barbarians of Lemuria campaign setting by Chris Perkins is also something that might be of help in a Beowulf setting.

Yeah, elves and dwarves would have to be dialed back to be ultra-rare creatures that adventurers met only under strange circumstances unless they somehow made it to Alfheim or the equivalent.

Thanks for reminding me of The Fjarrstrand Sagas.  I have it on a flashdrive somewhere but I need to look at it again.

Is the Honor and Intrigue game?  The Swashbuckling genre sounds pretty fun, I was also looking at doing a Dark Ages genre, any suggestions on where to get some possible source material for the era that might be generic?

Dark Ages.  Now I have a sudden urge to do something like Beowulf.

My character is Sigulf https://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons2/winking.png
 from Asgard, Barbarian 2, Merc 1, Thief 1, & Pirate 1.

One of the things my wife loves about her character is that she has a Desert Warhorse named Yoserian - after the horse that she had as a girl, the horse has had some very important plot lines in the different stories (its been stolen, its saved her character, etc..)

Like I posted earlier, we had started this as a d20 Mongoose Conan Campaign and when I learned about the Barbarians of Lemuria rules we converted over.  We actually played several adventures twice, using d20 Conan and BoL rules each time.  It was an interesting experience.  My wife LOVED the BoL rules, we originally used Legendary and now Mythic - with house rules of course (like most everyone I imagine).

I have lots of different Hyborian Age adventures from all sorts of gaming systems etc... it is really my favorite setting (big Conan fan, read almost all of the paperbacks and have the full collection of Savage Sword  of Conan from Dark Horse).

My wife read the REH Conan stories too, she likes the setting a lot, even though when we played other RPGs she usually tends to like Sorceresses.

Heck, our characters have even met King Conan once during their adventuring days.   I am hoping that the characters will make their way back to Aquilonia so that I can run the Trial of Blood Adventure.  For now, they are going to be in Hyrkania for a few more sessions.

I don't know if you've posted this elsewhere but how do you go about converting the adventures from d20 Conan, or other game systems for that matter, to BoL?

Since the Sword and Sorcery genre is much like the pulp fiction stories and the old serial movies, what seemed like certain death was avoided....with a hero point spent and a good plan devised between the player and the GM......

I like this idea.

I actually like the three days dead idea but recast as a cliffhanger.  Everyone thought they were dead but actually they weren't.  They barely survived.

A redo of the last session.

Update on Oslac the Beast-Friend:

With Lady Corsair so wrapped up in winning the affections of Oslac, her crew begins to mutiny when she neglects her responsibilities.  Rescuing her, Oslac and Laaric flee into the jungle, where they are ambushed by pursuing pirates.  However, Oslac summons a Dracophon to assist in their escape.  The party arrive at the city of Oomis and check into the Inn of the Grateful Night.  Securing passage to Parsool, Oslac and Laaric, suddenly become ill, and Lady Corsair soon discovers they have been poisoned.  Quickly finding an antidote, she pervades upon them to join her in finding the Sword of Tarcix at the ruins of Qeb, before her crew does.  Reluctant to help, but feeling obligated to Lady Corsair, the group boards the merchant ship, Assurance, hoping to arrive before the pirate ship.  However, as they reach their destination, they find the Devil's Sun waiting for them. After a brief sea battle in which the Assurance is almost sunk, Oslac summons a sea creature, to attack the pirate ship.  With the Assurance still fleeing, the group jumps overboard and swims to shore. Only one pirate remains to guard the ruins, and he is quickly dispatched. As the group makes their way into the ruins, they are attacked by a creature of the undead. Defeating the creature, they come across the remains of an epic battle which has just ended leaving only two survivors. The two have found the Sword of Tarcix, and Oslac demands that they hand it over. Upon refusing, Oslac disarms the pirate holding the sword, while his dire wolf attacks the pirate. Olsac uses the Sword upon the other pirate, instantly killing him. Recognizing its power, Oslac is fearful that the Sword will fall into the wrong hands, and decides to keep it for further quests. The group finds the room filled with other treasures, and make their way to the ruined settlement of Ygddar. Trading with the Blue Giants, they decide what their next course of action ma

Thanks for the rundown.

I do like the life-path character creation system for Classic Traveller.  But you have a point when it comes to BoLBoL careers always sparks ideas for me when it comes to backgrounds.

The resource system sounds like what I've heard of the way The Black Hack handles such things.  I haven't read The Black Hack myself so I don't know for sure.

Has anyone played this?  It seems to have slipped past my radar.  What do you think?  Good?  Bad?  Ugly?

I've been watching The Mandalorian.  I really want to run a game of WEG Star Wars for the boys.  Or, perhaps, cooks something up with Everywhen but WEG SW is ready to go.
