Sorry. I still need to get the first one. It would be great if the second one gets translated though.

Well, again, the more people buy Lemurian Chronicles, the greater incentive for Ludospherik (or whoever) to translate (Chroniques Lémuriennes 2) Le Dieu Voilé...

Lemurian Chronicles, as of right now, is a Silver Seller on DTRPG. Let's go go for gold, shall we?!?

Only just seen this.

My version of Bol has both boons.

Where? Which version? How are those boons called?!?

Everywhen: PbBoL (yes, I do own it now!) p. 18 has:

"Striking Appeal - You may add +1 to your appeal attribute. Your maximun appeal is 6 rather than 5, and your maximum starting appeal is 4 rather than 3."

There is no such boon in BoL:ME but there should be. Lilandra's Appeal, anyone?

Gruntfuttock wrote:

Remember that people can be 'persuasive, charismatic and seductive' without necessarily being attractive in the looks department. They both model different things, and if you have both - "What a babe/guy!"

That's irrelevant. We all know what the definition of Appeal in BoL is & yes it is not only a question of looks.

The problem is the Witch-Queen on p. 161:

"Boons

Attractive: included in stats"

Except that this boon doesn't increase any stat... like, say, her high Appeal of 3.

It should be changed to:

"[Savant]: included in stats"

That would explain her Mind of 4.

Yeah, sure, it would be great... but that will only happen if it is worth it for Ludospherik (or whoever else like, say, Beyond Belief) & they have already said they were a bit disappointed by the sales of Lemurian Chronicles 1. As of now, it is only a "Best Silver Seller" on DTRPG. So, if the English-speaking fans of BoL want to do something toward future translations, they should not only buy Lemurian Chronicles 1 but also spread the word about it. Let's go for Electrum, Gold, Platinum, etc... ! 😎

Is there such a boon in the latest version (2.7) of BoL:ME, i.e. the hardcopy (I only own version 2.6 in PDF?. Alternately, is there one in EveryWhen?

Something like this should be found on p. 51:

"Lilandra's Gift: You are persuasive, charismatic and seductive. You may add 1 to your appeal. Your maximum appeal is 6 rather than 5, and your maximum starting appeal is 4 rather than 3."

Because the Attractive boon can not increase the Witch-Queen's appeal of 3 in spite of what is written on p. 161.

"Attractive: You are particularly handsome or pretty. Roll a bonus die in situations where good looks might be important." (BoL:ME p. 50)

The French (Ludospherik, that is) are working on volume 3, Les Chroniques Lémuriennes 3. ETA, later this year or early next year.

The most common criticism I see for BoL Mythic is that it might not be good for long campaign play because it is so quick and easy to max out character stats.

This is indeed a very common criticism, but there is no need to address it specifically. Those people who make it haven't done the math & do not realize that the RAW are just fine the way they are.

For Argol Arran (BoL:ME p. 168), say, to max out any of his attributes going from 1 to 5 takes 24 (3+5+7+9) advancement points (XPs). That's huge: it represents an average of 12 "sagas" (adventures) which means even more sessions of play (24? 36? More?). To max out all of his 4 attributes (strength, agility, mind & appeal at 5)  takes 96 XPs!

To max out any of his combat abilities going from 1 to 5 takes 18 (3+4+5+6) advancement points (XPs). All four takes 72 XPs... To max out any of his careers going from 1 to 5 takes 14 (2+3+4+5) advancement points (XPs). Four careers at 5 means 56 XPs...

But of course, you can also improve your character by spending XPs to get a new career, buy off flaws, get new boons (with flaws) as well as to get followers (BoL:ME p. 126)! The possibilities are not endless, there is a definite ceiling to a character's career... but for all practical purposes it doesn't matter as it will realistically never be reached!?!

Let's say Krongar -after many sessions of play- increases his beginning strength of 3 to his maximum of 5, all for a cost of 16 advancement points (XPs). Could he then take up the Blue Giant Strength boon & an additional flaw to increase his strength to 6 for the cost of a measly 2 XPs?!?

After all, Rork Kozaar who begins play both with strength 4 & the Blue Giant Strength boon needs 20 XPs to reach his maximum of 6.

Some BoL GMs would say that the attribute increasing boons can only be taken during character generation. Others would say that those boons can be acquired in play but only for those attributes which haven't been increased yet. While a third type of GMs are OK with those boons being taken at any time during play.

BoL 156:

"Buy boons and buy off flaws:

- Spend 2 AP to remove a flaw. Some flaws cannot be removed.
- Spend 2 AP to take a new boon. Some boons cannot be taken after character creation."
