I’ve just downloaded and read a new Everywhen pdf for Garnett Elliott’s Blood Sundown ‘Weird West’ setting.
So why am I posting about it here?
Because I can see that it might be of interest to sword and sorcery gamers too. It is a scenario set in San Francisco in 1875, inspired by John Carpenter’s ‘Big Trouble in Little China’. So it features an appendix on Wuxia martia arts, and another appendix on Taoist Sorcery. As Garnett has written this, these rules are flavourful, elegant and useful for introducing martial arts into your game. Even if you don’t have Everywhen, it is a snap to convert to BoL.
If you like D&D style monks, and want to make your Lemurian Druids more deadly, this could be a good investment. Also, if you use BoL for games set in Conan’s Hyboria, this is perfect for introducing travellers from far Khitai, apparently simple merchants, but actually monks on a mission.
And the price is very reasonable.
