Thanks, Grunt-Man.  I found a couple lamia write-ups in the Mongoose Conan material but went with a slightly different take.

Thanks for the feedback, Peter. Most BoL adventures I write are designed for play at conventions, to better spread the glory of this wonderfully robust rule-set.  And while BoL handles a number of genres well, I think it's especially suited for R.E.H.'s Hyboria.

This is excellent.  Putting a focus on the mead hall as a 'frame' for adventures in this rich historical setting is a great idea.

One question:  would PC's still have 4 careers?  It makes sense for a more gonzo fantasy world, but I'm not sure heroes in a quasi-historical context would have as much varied background.

I'd watch the hit point escalation. In regular BoL you've got it scaled so the rabble-types do less damage, and falls and other types of natural threats are still deadly to skilled heroes. With levels and hit die, this begins to change.

Ah, I recognize these NPCs now.  I've got GURPS Egypt, too, but never thought to mash the setting with HPL monsters before. Egyptian-themed magic must be a blast to run during play!

I started out actually trying to stat up the shoggoth using CoC rules as a reference, but it struck me that without powerful magic, even heroic-style BoL PCs wouldn't be able to kill one of the damn things.  So I came up with the version used in 'Army of Five Eyes." I'm glad it got some use elsewhere, too.

Could you post the PCs you used in your game?  They sound really inspired.

Haven't posted here in awhile, but my good friend The Venomous Pao is hosting two new BoL adventures on his blog Strange Stones.  Both are set in REH's mythic Hyboria, and one is a heavy crossover with Clark Ashton Smith influences ('Fortress Oblivion') while the other HP Lovecraft ('Army of Five Eyes').  You can check them out here:

Thanks for reading it, GF. I think the Southern Kingdoms have a lot of potential for Hyborian adventures.

Thanks for reading it, and yes, without the Pao none of my RPG stuff would see the light of day.

I agree with you about the Southern Kingdoms being under-utilized. There're really a lot of information about the area in the Mongoose Conan books, and RPG's like Spears of the Dawn help to give a feel for African-based adventures.
